Come enjoy this amazing guest cottage on Lake Eden! This roomy cottage, with 1,500 square feet of living space, is located in a quiet corner of the property near Camp Rockmont, next to the former site of the world-renowned, Black Mountain College. With high ceilings and lots of windows, natural light shines through, and the views of the lake (sorry, but swimming is prohibited) and farm are wonderful! The cottage is located next to the owner's primary residence, separated by a beautiful courtyard with a unique water feature.
House Layout:
Easy living with one level- Living room has a TV and a gas fireplace; fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, Keurig, and standard coffee makers; dining nook with seating for 4; bedroom with a Sleep Number king-size bed, TV, and french doors out to the covered porch; spacious deck with seating that overlooks Lake Eden; patio with gas grill.
Please Note: Sorry, but no pets. However, you can enjoy goats, chickens, and other farm animals at the edge of the property. No smoking inside or outside on the property. There is an outdoor security camera located on the porch.

Everything. We enjoy the amazing view, the animals in the small farm, the beautiful and comfortable house, the kindness of the owner, the sky in the night, the mountains around. Actually, we enjoy very much and plan to comeback sooner than later.

Lakeside Retreat lives up to its name as a comfortable, relaxing retreat. We enjoyed the farm animals and especially loved seeing the goats. This lakeside house is roomy, clean and well appointed. Sitting on the porch was a plus! We will definitely be coming back.

The Lakeside Retreat felt like home--comfortable, quiet, and surrounded by a beautiful lake and farm. It feels tucked away, but it's also very convenient for getting to Black Mountain, Asheville, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We plan to make a trip here into an annual tradition!

Everything! We wanted a relaxing getaway but also wanted to be close enough to hiking trails. This place offered both of those things. I loved waking up with the farm animals grazing next door and sitting outside looking at the lake during our down times. Peaceful and serene.

This place is Awesome! Far enough away to get the secluded feel and close enough to Asheville to make day trips. Stop looking now and book this place. You won't regret it!

FAQs

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus a $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Lakeside Retreat is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Lakeside Retreat has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Lakeside Retreat has a gas fireplace for guests to use. Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. 

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit, which is not provided at Lakeside Retreat. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Lakeside Retreat. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
