Located within a 3-minute drive of Lake Susan, Robert Lake Playground, and Montreat Conference Center activities, this spacious & historic home welcomes pets and offers a charcoal grill, a stunning flagstone patio & a rocking chair front porch to enjoy! Bowdenvilla, built in 1911, boasts an impressive history. The original owner, Robert Reid, is rumored to have hosted the Swedish-American actress Greta Garbo at the property. Bowdenvilla is now the center of many cherished memories and allows for groups to enjoy a warm and welcoming gathering space. The main level of the home has a small sitting area with a twin day bed and connected powder room, formal dining room, and main living room with no shortage of cozy seating options. Also on the main floor is an updated kitchen with stainless appliances, a bedroom with a queen bed and en suite bathroom (walk-in shower only), two additional full bathrooms (one with a walk-in shower only and one with a shower/bathtub combination), a washer and dryer, and mud room. Upstairs includes a bedroom with two twin beds, a full hallway bathroom (walk-in shower only), and a bedroom with a queen bed. An additional room with two twin beds leads to a connected bunk room with two sets of bunk beds (twin on top and full on bottom), a double bed, and a twin bed. Please note: This home is pet friendly with an additional fee, and it is youth-group friendly. Sheets and towels are NOT supplied but can be rented through GreyBeard for an additional fee. This home is not equipped with Central A/C, but there are A/C window units in each bedroom.
