March Madness arrives in Asheville this week, and it’s just the beginning a whole month of Asheville activities and events. Tip off for the Southern Conference Basketball Tournament is March 1, and that’s the first step towards making it to the big dance. It’s not too late to head up this way to see the basketball action live. Finals aren’t until Monday, March 6th.
If you’re already coming up this way, you might want be active and not just an athletic observer. Take a look at the French Broad Rafting website that features white water rafting, in season, and canopy zip lining. And if your team exits early, you can still make the most of the weekend by tackling one of the many hikes and treks available in the Asheville area. If you can’t make it up here until later in the month, consider arriving the last weekend in March and take in the Food Truck Showdown on March 25th. From the Root Down, a southern comfort food truck, to the Peruvian Fusion truck, sample the Asheville food scene, enjoy the music, and hit the breweries on the way home (with a designated driver!).
