Do you want the independence of an Asheville rental cabin with the concierge services of a luxury hotel? If you do, you are not alone, says The New York Times. According to a NY Times travel article appearing this weekend, Greybeard Realty is one real estate rental firm that offers its cabin renters some of the amenities usually considered staples of deluxe, big-city hotels. Greybeard Guest Services division offers varied services such as tee times at area golf courses, family portraiture, and even decorated Christmas tree delivery.
For Chip Craig, Greybeard’s founder, the Guest Services division that was created a year ago serves as the perfect complement for his goal for the rental division. “We only list homes we would rent ourselves if we were going on vacation,” he says. “And Guest Services is just an extension of the type of customer services we strive for in our rental division.”
Guest Services itself constantly strives to provide services that simplify Greybeard renters’ vacation experiences. In addition to providing hand-decorated birthday cakes and arranging outdoor adventures among other services, this year Greybeard added a Thanksgiving dinner delivery which allowed its guests to enjoy a full holiday spread without having to even go to the grocery store. While the NY Times mention was appreciated, it was not the first time Greybeard, the 11-year-old real estate firm, has been cited by the national newspaper. A 2007 article on national havens talked about the culture of Black Mountain and mentioned Greybeard by name.
