Asheville Oktoberfest Features Local Micro-Breweries

Anyone leaving their Asheville rental cabins this weekend to venture into Asheville proper may think they’ve mistakenly wandered into a Bavarian village.  Saturday, October 8th, the Asheville Downtown Association hosts the 3rd annual Oktoberfest.  Beginning at noon, the festival features games, beer tastings and traditional yodeling tunes. 

Local breweries including Black Mountain’s Pisgah Brewing and Craggie Brewing will be there, along with the band The Stratton Mountain Boys.

With their “oompah” sound, this band had them dancing in the street in last year’s appearance.  In addition, the old favorite games such as keg-rolling contests, stein races, and a costume contest will be back again this year.
