Top and bottom levels are connected with outdoor stairwell. Easy entry to upper level with parking for 2 cars. McCall house, located in quiet Montreat, is a great place for families or groups to gather. With five bedrooms and large living areas, McCall House is a great summer getaway. For a true getaway, this log cottage in a high mountain cove cannot be topped with its creek side location tucked in among rhododendron, giant ferns and deep quiet woods. The cottage features a great room with large stone fireplace and high beams and a newly renovated kitchen with modern amenities. The master bedroom has a double bed with fireplace and full bath facilities adjoining. A second downstairs bedroom has a very comfortable full futon and full bath with shower only. A loft bedroom with four single beds and half bath completes the layout. The living room also has a queen sleeper sofa. A large screened porch with swing and eating table is a most enjoyable space and overlooks the creek and woods. Its large porch with ceiling fans and rockers make Chidi San Memory a welcoming place for families, friends, and groups to reconnect and get refreshed. Each upstairs bedroom has its own balcony. Ideally located in a lovely part of Montreat, it's a short 8 minute walk to Lake Susan, and only 5-minute drive to downtown Black Mountain. Well-behaved dogs welcome (sorry, we're allergic to cats). Main floor has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, kitchen, family room with working fireplace, small eating and sitting areas. The long living/dining room has a banquet table that seats 14. Downstairs has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, 2 small game rooms and and additional kitchen.PLEASE NOTE that this house does not have a television or air-conditioning. Two Little Birds Cottage, originally built in the 1920's, was renovated in 2009 but has retained its period charm. The house has high ceilings, tall windows and vintage beadboard throughout. The 2009 renovation added a new second floor and updated the bathrooms and the kitchen with all new appliances. There are ceiling fans throughout and each bedroom as a window A/C unit. The house sleeps 14 and with only a 10 minute walk to Lake Susan makes an ideal location for small or large groups. HOUSE LAYOUT: Main floor: Living Room with full futon, kitchen, dining area that seats 12, BR with queen bed, full hall bath, BR with queen bed.
